Meetings

We meet every Tuesday at Carrow House, Norwich. The first Tuesdays of the month are evening meetings from 6-9pm, all other Tuesdays are afternoon meetings 1-4pm.

Some meetings will have a theme, workshop, or speaker (all of which are optional), some have no pre-planned agenda. You are encouraged to bring along any craft projects you are working on; there is room for you to bring looms and spinning wheels if you wish.

The cost is £2 per meeting for members, £3 for non members. Non members are very welcome to come and check us out before joining.

Our events team are always working to add new items to the calendar, and we greatly appreciate member input, either ideas, or offers to run workshops.

For those who are unable to attend meetings, we have regular email newsletters to keep you up to date with goings on, an active members-only Facebook group, and occasional Thursday evening Zoom meetings.

How to find us

How to get there: Carrow House, King Street, NR1 2TN

Carrow House is on King Street, about half a mile from Trowse Manor Rooms. Travelling towards the city, follow signs to the Norwich City Football Ground and at the King Street lights, turn rigt towards the football ground and Riverside/Morrisons. Carrow House is immediately on your right behind the trees. The entrance is just before the pedestrian lights, through double gates.

The Car Park is on the left at the end of the building (behind the old bit)

If you are on the bus, the charcoal line buses (40A, 41A, X41 towards Poringland, Bungay and Halesworth) all stop just before the Kings Street turn. You can also get any bus going to County Hall.

Internet Provider

Once you get to the building:

We are on Floor 1. As the building is on a slope, it feels like a bit of a rabbit warren so Maria, who is one of the trustees, has sent this Dropbox video for those who are happy with stairs.
The building has lifts and stair lifts and is 100% accessible. You can also pull up outside the building to unload kit and there are disabled parking spaces close to the front door. We will send another video as soon as we can to show you lift access (its from the other end of our room). Toilets and the kitchen are all on the same floor level.

While we will stick to our meeting times for formal sessions, you are able to access the building and use our space on our daytime Tuesdays between 0900 and 1700. Carrow House will have a receptionist on duty between these times and you will be asked to sign in (for fire safety reasons). If you wish to be in the building outside our meeting hours, we ask you to contribute £1 an hour on top of your £2 subs. This will be on an ‘honesty’ basis. We will clarify arrangements for out of hours access for our evening meetings in due course.
We have a larger storeroom so that bigger projects can be left at Carrow House if you wish.
